1. Project/Proposal Title: Pono Kai Shore Protection, Kapa'a, Kaua'i, Hawai'i

Description: Reviewed the feasibility of repairing the existing seawall. Made recommendations on the alternatives given by the Kauai County to the Sea Grant College Program.
2. Project/Proposal Title: Kaipapa’u Stream Flood Damage, Hauula, Hawaii
Location of Project: University of Hawaii
Description: Expert witness for the Iseke Defendants and Third-Party Plaintiffs (State of Hawaii) for the case Lindsey, et al. v. Bright, et al., Civil No. 10-1-2621-12 RAN/Arb. No. 10-1-2621, involving flood damage to the plaintiffs caused by the overflow of Kaipapa'u Stream in the Hauula area twice in 2008 and again in 2009. Assisted by assessing flood damage to the plaintiffs and proved that the defendants did not do anything to contribute to the flood damage involved.

Description: Assisted in measuring soundings and tides of Seward Boat Harbor.
4. Project/Proposal Title: Navigation Improvements, Nome, Alaska

Description: Assisted with design drawings for sheet-pile wall replacements in support of a construction contract for navigation improvements at Nome, Alaska.
5. Project/Proposal Title: CHUGACH ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION FIRE ISLAND ELECTRIC CONNECTION, ANCHORAGE, ALASKA

Description: Assisted in the design of a new barge landing to be used for transporting materials for a new wind farm on Fire lsland to supply supplemental power to the City of Anchorage. Gathered geological data using GIS tools for soils inventory of Fire Island.
6. Project/Proposal Title: Demolition, Decommissioning and Remediation Project, Pump Station 08 and Pump Station 12, Trans-Alaska Pipeline System

Description: Assisted with, reviewed, and commented, and worked with contractors on the Conceptual Study: Facility Demolition/Removal and Cleanup – TAPS Pump Stations report, Cost Study, Project Scheduling, and Regulatory and Permitting Plan. Documented site visits.
7. Project/Proposal Title: Gas Supply Line Aboveground Reroute, Pump Station 03, Trans-Alaska Pipeline System
Location of Project: Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, Anchorage, AK
Description: Created Total Installed Cost (TIC) spreadsheet which includes gathering information from drawings (review and redlined) to figure out what materials will be installed, reading reports, and talking with contractors. Used Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (APSC) 2009 Project Cost Estimate and 2009-2012 APSC Craft Union Rates Bid Sheets to figure out labor rates for TIC.
8. Project/Proposal Title: Strategic Reconfiguration (SR) Electrification Tees Replacement, Pump Station 04, Trans-Alaska Pipeline System
Location of Project: Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, Anchorage, AK
Description: Created new drawing package for an Issue for Construction (IFC) report that included new design and making modifications in AutoCAD to the Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Interconnecting Piping Plan, Isometrics, and Demolition drawings. This drawing package included the replacement of two piping sections at Pump Station 04 that included replacing an existing discharge line tie-in tee with a new discharge 36”x42” flanged 90° elbow, and replacing an existing suction line tie-in tee and a 36” suction valve with a new 36”x42” flanged 90° elbow. Gathered and used drawings on Alyeska’s Pipeline Reconfiguration Library and TDDI.
9. Project/Proposal Title: Trans-Alaska Pipeline System Shutdown, June 20-21, 2009, Pump Station 03, Trans-Alaska Pipeline System
Location of Project: Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, Anchorage, AK
Description: Involved in the replacement of four piping sections at Pump Station 03 that included the replacement of 12” recirculation piping, the replacement of mainline 48” ball valve, replacing an existing discharge line tie-in tee with a new discharge 36”x42” flanged 90° elbow, and replacing an existing suction line tie-in tee and a 36” suction valve with a new 36”x42” flanged 90° elbow. Assisted with documenting, tracking steps and times of procedures during the PS03 Shutdown. Assisted with flange inspections of open pipeline before replacements were installed. Put together Issue for Construction (IFC) and Design Change Request (DCR) reports. Wrote a news story and Voice from the Pipeline for PS03 Shutdown for Alyeska Public Relations.
10. Project/Proposal Title: Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Blower Replacement, Pump Station 05, Trans-Alaska Pipeline System

Description: Detailed out an extension of a platform or pedestal to support two new blower packages in the Pump Station 5 sewage treatment plant. Created structural drawing for a floor plan.

Description: Prepared irrigation system design by creating alignments and profiles of a proposed irrigation system for Chugach Manor Senior Housing Complex.
12. Project/Proposal Title: False Island/Corner Bay Water Treatment Design, Sitka Ranger District, Tongass National Forest, Alaska

Description: Assisted with design of upgrades to comply with the surface water treatment rule for the False Island and Corner Bay water treatment plants. Design includes a schematic level design for both camps, design calculations, shop drawings and a materials list showing the water treatment system parts and equipment including incidental piping and valves.
13. Project/Proposal Title: Sanitation Facilities Feasibility Study, Kotlik, Alaska
Location of Project: Tryck Nyman Hayes, Inc. Anchorage, AK
Description: Assisted in the analysis and design of extending water and sanitary sewer services across the Kotlik River to serve the residents on neighboring islands. Assisted in collection of community information, analyzing existing sanitary facilities, determining needs for improvements, creating sanitation and support facilities alternates, identifying community concerns, evaluating existing support facilities, and providing new system design criteria.
14. Project/Proposal Title: St. Mary’s Regional Training Center, St. Mary’s, Alaska
Location of Project: Tryck Nyman Hayes, Inc. Anchorage, AK
Description: Provided design and performance specification of a drainage system for the St. Mary’s Regional Training Center. The drainage system used swales and was designed to meet standards to remove silt, sediment, and other parameters prior to discharge.
15. Project/Proposal Title: Yakutat Employee Housing, Yakutat Ranger District, Tongass National Forest, Alaska

Description: Designed six on-site wastewater secondary treatment systems meeting NSF/ANSI STANDARD 40 requirements. Designed three raised mound absorption bed systems to meet the needs of the six on-site septic systems and to create lowest impact on surroundings. Assisted in the design of a new water well system which included a submersible pump and well housing.

Description: Assisted in the construction of CoWater Flush Tank & Haul units for Nunapitchuk. Performed inspection of CoWater units throughout construction phase by measuring and checking that each installed component for all facilities with new units in Nunapitchuk was up to specification.

Description: Provided analysis of well potential in the Loretta French Park by gathering well production data in the surrounding areas. Made recommendations for location and production of new well.
19. Project/Proposal Title: On-Site Wastewater Septic System Project, Nikolaevsk, Alaska

Description: Assisted in the design and construction of individual on-site septic systems for Nikolaevsk. Performed percolation testing and digging test holes for absorption field sites. Performed site measurements and determined pre-existing septic conditions of each lot. Created scaled drawings showing existing structures and detailed drawings of each septic system installed for each lot. Assisted through the construction phase by documenting work performed through field notes, photos, and ADEC documentation.

22. Project/Proposal Title: Sanitation Facilities Master Plan Project, Old Minto Camp, Alaska

Description: Project Engineer to oversee a Sanitation Facilities Master Plan delineating long-range strategies for the camps’ water supply, wastewater treatment, and solid waste disposal systems. The plan had to address sludge disposal using small ATV equipment, and a sludge disposal pit.

Description: Assisted on fieldwork for a new production well to service Anchor Point. Assisted with data collecting for a 72-hour drawdown test and 108-hour pilot test. Monitored the drawdown of the new production well and six other production wells in the vicinity.

Description: Assisted with inspection of arctic pipe, and performed work on CAD drawings to specifications of project engineer. Created new drawings and made changes to existing drawings depicting the location and description of the service connections and plumbing layouts.

Description: Assessed sanitation conditions for Anvik by performing house-to-house surveys, noting the sanitation conditions of each facility, and talking to residences. Prepared a comprehensive Household Sanitation Facilities Inventory spreadsheet that summed up the conditions and needs of the community. Assisted in reviewing Statement of Qualifications from consulting firms for design on the Water & Sewer Project.

27. Project/Proposal Title: Old Cannery Demolition and Clean-up Project, Seldovia, Alaska

Description: Prepared documents for bid package used for demolition and clean-up of an old cannery site. Work performed includes outlining and describing the site cleanup through CAD drawings, estimating volumes and weights of debris by type, and coordinating environmental sections into the documents.

Description: Prepared an ADEC manual that addressed how landfill operators of the Denali Borough region should deal and respond to hazardous waste according the ADEC regulations.

Description: Project Engineer to oversee the development of a Landfill Feasibility Study, sludge disposal alternatives, and Preliminary Design to delineate long-range strategies for Ivanof Bay’s solid waste disposal systems.
30. Project/Proposal Title: Kivalina Relocation Planning Project Inventory and Village Requirements, Kivalina, Alaska
Location of Project: Tryck Nyman Hayes, Inc., Anchorage, AK
Description: Investigated and prepared report outlining the quantities of water, power, fuels of various types, and sewage capacities used or available in the existing Kivalina community and a future population projected at 500 persons. Storage, rated outputs, handling and delivery capacities, and capabilities were determined for the current and future populations. Recommendations were given on utilities for the new site based on community input, feasibility, and other communities of similar size.
31. Project/Proposal Title: Kivalina Relocation Master Plan, Kivalina, Alaska
Location of Project: Tryck Nyman Hayes, Inc., Anchorage, AK
Description: Assisted in the feasibility and design of moving an entire existing village to seven different selected sites. Review and evaluated existing data and reports for the seven alternate relocation sites, and performed field investigation of five relocation sites. Investigated, evaluated, and recommended water and sewer utilities needed to support community at each site. Assisted with a master relocation schedule that estimates the timing of the move, describes vital move priorities and considers as many potential problems as can be foreseen at the time of the study. Assisted in providing a recommended plan for each individual site and a comparison of the recommended plans to each other.
